From 12 to 28 June, the first sporting event, “European Games”, will take place in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, an event regulated by the various European Olympic Committees.

The multi-sport event will feature more than 6,000 European athletes representing a total of 20 sports, of which 16 are Olympic sports.

DCM, First’s telerradiology solution, was selected by the Event Organising Committee to support the medical team that will follow the athletes throughout June in carrying out examinations, diagnoses and producing radiology reports in a centralised way, simplifying the entire workflow of information generated by the medical team, from the registration of examinations to the retrieval and availability of results.

According to Tiago Oliveira, Business Development Manager (BDM) at First, the choice of DCM for this event serves to “affirm the versatility and adaptability of First’s solutions”, designed and developed for different markets.

Among the various features, Tiago Oliveira highlights “integrated access to radiological images, the ability to follow each athlete’s clinical progress immediately, response time monitoring and the use of voice recognition” as the main characteristics that will optimise diagnosis times and enable athletes to recover in the shortest possible time.

During the event, 2 local radiology units and an international team of radiologists will be available to monitor the 6,000 athletes. With DCM, unnecessary travel by doctors is avoided, while appropriate healthcare continues to be ensured.

“It is a vote of confidence in us that they give by selecting our solution for such an important event, which will certainly be the first of many,” concludes First’s BDM.
