The Santa Maria Local Health Unit has adopted Hepic, First's epidemiological surveillance solution, reinforcing the means available to its teams in infection prevention and control.

The implementation process was concluded with in-person training sessions aimed at the PPCIRA (Infection Prevention and Control and Antimicrobial Resistance Programme) team, during which the platform's main features were presented. The team already uses Hepic in their day-to-day surveillance and control of healthcare-associated infections.

With Hepic, the team has access to automatic alerts and permanently updated indicators, which allow them to identify infection risk situations earlier and act more quickly to adopt preventive measures. The result is more efficient epidemiological surveillance and a direct contribution to the continuous improvement of patient safety.

ULS Santa Maria thus becomes part of the network of institutions using Hepic, which is currently present in more than 85% of NHS units.
