On 29 October, Microsoft Portugal hosted a healthcare Think Tank in Lisbon focused on the Portuguese National Health Service (SNS), its 40 years of history, long-term sustainability, and future challenges.

The event brought together leading voices from the healthcare sector to discuss the evolution of e-health and its role in shaping the future of one of the world’s leading public healthcare systems. Discussions generated valuable insights, practical recommendations, and strategic reflections on the organisation of healthcare in Portugal.

First Solutions participated as both organising partner and contributor to the initiative. According to CEO José Correia de Sousa, the event stood out not only for the quality of its participants, but also for enabling meaningful debate and the development of concrete proposals to improve healthcare delivery in Portugal.

The Think Tank also featured prominent figures from the Portuguese healthcare sector, including former Ministers of Health Adalberto Campos Fernandes, Fernando Leal da Costa, and Maria de Belém Roseira.

The conclusions and recommendations from the event will be consolidated into a final guidance document intended to support strategic decision-making across public, private, and social healthcare organisations.
