First Solutions closes first deal in Brazil!

Following its arrival in Brazil in 2009, its participation in Hospitalar’09 and the recent creation of Brazil’s First Solutions, the company closes its first deal in the country with the 9 de Julho Hospital!

The 9 de Julho Hospital, based in São Paulo and belonging to the AMIL Group (one of the largest private health groups in Brazil), is one of this country’s most important private health institutions.  With about 1500 employees, 3800 doctors and about 890 nurses, the hospital complex, with a size of 27000 m2, has 279 beds, of which 60 are assigned to the Intensive Care Units.  It also has one of the country’s most modern surgical centres with a capacity for 14 surgeries simultaneously.  It shows averages of about 7600 emergency treatments and 1300 surgeries per month.

The 9 de Julho Hospital is a reference in highly complex medicine.  It has focussed its investments on traumatology and the creation of clinical specialty centres (Oncology, Pain Centre and Functional Neurosurgery), Gastroenterology, Kidney and Sports Medicine).
The close of this deal takes place at the time of the Hospitalar’10 edition, in which First is participating for the first time as an exhibitor.  First’s solution to control infection associated with health care (Hepic) was the one elected by this important hospital institution.

The solution allows for the monitoring and control of the entire process of Epidemiological Surveillance of Infections Associated with Health Care (IACS).  It allows for the real time inter-operability with the Health Units’ Information Systems, namely with the systems from the Microbiology Laboratory, Pharmacy, Emergency and HIS (Hospital Information System).

Of the features available, the real time monitoring of the Microbiology Laboratory, the automatic dispatch of alerts to the different Services, the systematic evaluation of incidence rates and predefined indicators, the creation of a database for epidemiologically important microorganisms, antibiotic consumption statistics, alcoholic and disinfectant solutions and the ability to create reports and statistics ad-hoc are highlights.
This first project represents an extremely important step in asserting First in new markets.
